The most heart touching poem that I have ever read is surprisingly not by Shakespeare, Robert Frost or any other great poet but is by an unknown African girl.
This girl of about eight years of age , wrote this poem out of sheer innocence. She didn't understand why she was called ‘coloured’ and discriminated against. This poem contains a deep meaning and I found it to be really touching and sweet .
Poem by an African
When I born, I Black,๐ฅ
When I grow up, I Black,๐ฅ
When I go in Sun, I Black,๐ฅ
When I scared, I Black,๐ฅ
When I sick, I Black,๐ฅ
And when I die, I still black..๐ฅ
And you White fella,๐ฅ
When you born, you Pink,๐ฅ
When you grow up, you White,๐ฅ
When you go in Sun, you Red,๐ฅ
When you cold, you Blue,๐ฅ
When you scared, you Yellow,๐ฅ
When you sick, you Green,๐ฅ
And when you die, you Gray..๐ฅ
And you calling me Colored?๐ฅ
