The most heart touching poem that I have ever read is surprisingly not by Shakespeare, Robert Frost or any other great poet but is by an unknown African girl.
This girl of about eight years of age , wrote this poem out of sheer innocence. She didn't understand why she was called ‘coloured’ and discriminated against. This poem contains a deep meaning and I found it to be really touching and sweet .
Poem by an African
When I born, I Black,π₯
When I grow up, I Black,π₯
When I go in Sun, I Black,π₯
When I scared, I Black,π₯
When I sick, I Black,π₯
And when I die, I still black..π₯
And you White fella,π₯
When you born, you Pink,π₯
When you grow up, you White,π₯
When you go in Sun, you Red,π₯
When you cold, you Blue,π₯
When you scared, you Yellow,π₯
When you sick, you Green,π₯
And when you die, you Gray..π₯
And you calling me Colored?π₯
